![]() ![]() If you visit Hermit Koco with certain items, he can increase Sonic’s power. Sonic Frontiers is a 2D side scrolling platform video game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega, released on Februfor the Sega Matrix, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series Synopsis. Ring capacity or speed level upgrades from Elder Koco.Summary: The Sonic franchise continues with the latest entry, Sonic Frontiers, a single-player high-speed action-platforming adventure starring the titular blue hedgehog. While searching for the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic is transported to a mysterious zone riddled with strange robot-like creatures. He'll have to get his bearings and figure out where he is if he intends to save his friends and return home. Sonic Frontiers introduces a new "Open-Zone" style of gameplay, where players are presented with a large open area to explore where they can dash, grind, and jump to new heights while discovering side quests and puzzles. Classic style levels can be found throughout the various islands Sonic will traverse, injecting the hallmarks of the Sonic franchise fans have come to expect. Published Sonic Frontiers will probably feature Sonic’s friends, but it might make new characters more prevalent than Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. You can spend time to build up to max rings if you really feel you'll need them during a fight, or charge in with as few or as many as you want, if you really want to challenge yourself against the Titans.Additionally, Sonic Frontiers introduces a new action-packed combat system that utilizes Sonic's speed to create tornadoes and string combos together to defeat the mechanized menace. In that case, the Cyloop is probably the best option we got out of it all. ![]() A key thing about ring upgrades is that the more you get, the more leeway you get in the Titan fight, so if Amy was there and providing rings, it not only invalidates that, but also makes it that you don't have much of a option if you wish to challenge yourself on having a certain number of rings pre-fight or not. On the other hand however, I do think that Amy being there to supply players with rings might not only remove a lot of the challenge choice, but also make things a bit too easy. On one hand, Amy being up there and providing Sonic with rings mid-fight probably would have been a decent user-friendly thing for the first time player - providing them with rings if they went in without many of them, or without levelling Sonic up much, or take longer to get used to the battle controls. This feels like something of a double-edged sword, with the ring situation. The 'tree robot' may have also just been a very early iteration of Giganto. Turns out the 'ghost girl' who gave Super Sonic rings initially was more than likely just Amy. If you go back to the original screenshots that were posted on the website ( ) and the original area view they showcased, most of it is them showing off the tutorial area, Ouranos and Rhea ( ). Rhea and Ouranos parts of the island have way more unique areas of interest than Kronos which makes me think that Ouranos and Rhea were created first, then Kronos was created later. Rhea and Ouranos connect so seamlessly that you're able to constantly run in and out of them, as opposed to how the Kronos section of the island is isolated off from them (similar to how the Plateau from BOTW is isolated from the rest of the map). The Spider Guardian is even wandering around here, similar to how it was in the CG part of the Launch Trailer ( ) Also really interesting is how natural the area feels. This shows an old Set Data which has Giganto in Supreme's Area, Emerald Vaults and Cyber Space locations in both Rhea and Ouranos. ![]()
